The Stemlite Gubi table lamp, designed by Bill Curry in 1962, is considered a milestone in modern lighting design. As the first so-called “Total Look” lamp, it replaced Stemlite the classic combination of base and shade with a self-contained, sculptural unit featuring interchangeable modules—a revolutionary approach at the time. The Stemlite was named “Most Influential Lamp of the Year” by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965, shaped the visual vocabulary of an entire design era, and was even used on the set of the original Star Trek series. Decades later, the lamp was faithfully reissued by Gubi and carefully adapted to meet today’s technical and safety standards. With a height of 42 cm, the Stemlite table lamp is ideal for sideboards, nightstands, or desks.
