The Stemlite Gubi floor lamp, designed by Bill Curry in 1962, is considered a milestone in modern lighting design. As the first so-called “Total Look” lamp, it broke Stemlite the traditional separation of the base and the shade, uniting both elements into a clean, sculptural form. Named “Most Influential Lamp of the Year” by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965 and featured, among other places, on the set of the original *Star Trek* series, it Stemlite an entire design era. After nearly five decades, it has been faithfully reissued by Gubi —with careful technical adjustments to meet today’s safety standards. An integrated counterweight in the base provides additional stability without altering the characteristic silhouette. The Stemlight is ideal for living and lounge areas.
