In 1953, he was commissioned by the real estate company managing Gaudí’s famous residential building \u0026 #039;La Pedrera \u0026 #039; in Barcelona to design apartments for the penthouse level of this building.\r\nFor the Pedrera building, Barba Corsini subsequently designed 13 individual apartments, which were numbered 1 through 14 out of superstition. For these apartments, he also designed a series of lighting fixtures and furniture, which included the Pedrera lighting fixtures.\r\nBarba Corsini drew inspiration for the lighting series from the slender, cylindrical chimneys of the Pedrera building.
