Gräshoppa Table Lamp

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, the Gräshoppa table lamp first appeared in Greta Magnusson Grossman’s installations. Like many of the Danish-American designer’s other creations, the Gräshoppa table lamp was produced in very limited quantities and for only a short time. In 2013, Gubi brought the Gräshoppa table lamp back onto tables around the world as a re-edition, since the rare originals have since become virtually unaffordable. Like the large Gräshoppa floor lamp, the table lamp from this iconic collection embodies stylish timelessness. Over the decades, the light and clean design of the Gräshoppa has lost none of its charm. Gubi manufactures the lamp base—with an integrated switch—and the flexible lamp arm from brass. The shade of the Gräshoppa table lamp is made of powder-coated aluminum and is available in various subtle colors. Thanks to the adjustable arm, the light can be directed as desired, minimizing glare. This lighting fixture, which still looks contemporary today, is equally suitable as a task light and as a statement piece of good design—for example, on a sideboard.
