Ditzel was the in-house designer at Fredericia in the late 1980s. She was known for her rebellious spirit and fearlessness. When she and her husband Jørgen Ditzel designed the Ditzel Lounge Chair in 1953, they rejected the conventional notion that a chair must be upright and difficult to sit in. The curves of the Ditzel Lounge Chair are carefully thought out to appear as elegant as possible from every angle.
