Expressive Floor Lamp

Inspired by the alluring shape of a woman’s braid, designer Marc Sadler created the sculptural Tress lamp series for Foscarini , which, with its interwoven shade, creates a diffuse interplay of light and shadow.

Light &, and Shadow

The design of the Tress floor lamp consists of strips of fiberglass and synthetic resin interwoven in a random order, which together form a haphazard mesh. The power cable is woven into the mesh—which is an interplay of different surfaces—thus presenting itself as an integral part of the lamp.

The Light

The unique structure of the lamp, or rather the lampshade, creates a distinctive interplay of light and shadow. The light is variably dimmable, allowing it to be adapted to different situations and atmospheres. With two light sources—one at the bottom and one at the top—Tress emits a semi-diffused light both from within and upward.

The Tress floor lamp by Foscarini is made from a composite material of painted fiberglass. Available in two different sizes and the colors white, black, and red, the Tress floor lamp appears either discreetly elegant, with a masculine presence, or with a fiery aura.
