Table lamp with a shade made of satin-finished and blown glass

The " Rituals " lamp series, designed by architects and designers Ludovica + Roberto Palomba for Foscarini , captivates above all with its sculptural quality. The lamps playfully straddle the fine line between the East and the West. The challenge was to translate the lightness of the washi paper used in Oriental lanterns into a collection of glass lamps. A creation made possible only thanks to the expertise of Foscarini and the skill of the master glassblowers of Murano. The entire “ Rituals ” lighting series includes pendant lamps and table lamps. The “ Rituals ” table lamps emit diffused light. The collection features three diffuser shapes made of hand-blown glass using a blowing technique in which the glass is blown firmly in place rather than rotated within the mold (known as “ & ’a fermo & ”). The striped effect is achieved using a mold with negative decorations that are repeated on the surface of the glass. The glass is then filed by hand and subjected to an acid-etching process to create a plaster-like effect. The lamps are available in two versions with G9 (dimmer included) or E27 sockets. “ Rituals ” creates very intimate, atmospheric lighting. Each of these lamps serves a different function and is designed for a different location. The shortest version serves as a table lamp, the tallest as a floor lamp, and the smallest as a bedside lamp. The rippling effect on the surface of the Foscarini Rituals table lamps creates high-contrast light-dark effects on the plaster-like body. Since the lampshade rests on three slender metal legs, it creates a highly expressive element on which the lamp appears to float.
