A smaller version of Achille Castiglioni’s classic

Flos ’s Taccial Small LED is the smaller version of this iconic design classic. The concept was originally created in 1958 by designers Pier and Achille Giacomo Castiglioni, before the lamp went into mass production in 1962. In a 1970 interview, design legend Achille Castiglioni said of the Taccia: “For us, it’s the Mercedes-Benz of lamps; a symbol of success, perhaps because the base resembles an ancient column.” When we designed the Taccia lamp, however, prestige was not our primary concern. Our main focus was on creating a surface that stays cool.

Indirect and Reflective Lighting

The table lamp provides indirect and

reflective

lighting, as well as an adjustable glass diffuser. The LED bulb in the lamp’s base directs light toward the reflector plate located inside the hand-blown glass body, which then disperses the light. The adjustable glass shade allows the light to be directed in the desired direction. While the transparent shade scatters the light freely, the reflector plate made of glossy white aluminum creates diffused light. A switch-dimmer on the lamp’s cord allows you to adjust the light intensity as desired, creating not only bright illumination but also a cozy atmosphere. The lamp body is made of ribbed extruded aluminum, creating a material contrast with the glass that makes the lamp a real eye-catcher.

This little classic can be used on a nightstand, as a desk lamp, or on a dresser in the hallway or living room. With its well-balanced proportions, harmonious design, and timeless appeal, the lamp enhances any living space.
