Where does the name come from Transloetje The word is a portmanteau consisting of two terms that perfectly capture the essence of this lamp: first, the team at Fatboy wanted to design a TRANSparent version of the Edison the Petit. They succeeded. And “LOETJE” is the archaic Dutch derivation of the Italian word “Luce,” which means light. That’s how simply the lamp’s name came about.
