Letter-Shaped Cups Made of Bioplastic

AJ Ecozen ’s cups replace the previous melamine cups from Design Letters and offer a new level of quality. Ecozen is a bioplastic made from organic materials, making it sustainable and safe for health: It is 100% BPA- and BPS-free. Because Ecozen is manufactured at low temperatures, the cups have a better energy balance. Even though the cups now feature a new sustainable component, their appearance remains unchanged. This means the Ecozen cups can be perfectly combined with the existing melamine cups.

The Jacobsen ABC

The distinctive letters on the cups were created by designer Arne Jacobsen. The Danish designer created this popular typeface—which looks just as modern today as it did back then—as early as 1937 for the signage at Aarhus City Hall. Today, the letters, numbers, and symbols adorn a wide variety of home accessories, textiles, office supplies, and children’s toys across the various Design Letters collections.
