Although certain aspects of the production process have been modernized, the armchair is still manufactured in the same way as it was in 1950: From assembling the frame to surface treatment and weaving the seat, the CH22 handcrafted by highly specialized artisans.

New Color Palette in Collaboration with Ilse Crawford

To celebrate Hans J. Wegner’s more than 70-year collaboration with Carl Hansen & amp; Søn, the Danish label has teamed up with renowned London-based designer Ilse Crawford to design a new color palette for the first five chairs that Wegner created for Carl Hansen & amp; Søn in 1950. The result is a multifaceted reinterpretation of Wegner’s CH22 CH 23, CH 24, CH 25, and CH 26 chairs, whose timelessness is further emphasized by the new, rich colors. Evoking the rugged beauty of the Nordic landscape, each color features a slightly translucent finish that allows the grain of the oak wood to show through.
