Compact Sofa by Hans J. Wegner

The CH72 sofa was designed by Hans J. Wegner back in 1952 and is now finding its way back into homes thanks to the reissue by Carl Hansen . Even back then, the designer was praised for his unique mastery of the art of upholstered furniture, and it’s no surprise that he is considered a Danish design legend today. His ability to combine aesthetics, functionality, and comfort is also clearly evident in the CH72 sofa and the matching CH71 armchair.

Angular silhouette and comfortable upholstery

The sofa stands out for its compact dimensions, making it ideal for small living rooms as well as for the kitchen or hallway. Its angular contours give the sofa an almost graphic, sculptural appearance that adds an elegant touch, both then and now. The upholstered seat shell features a particularly high backrest, so the user feels gently embraced and secure.

With solid wood details

The armrests, which are also upholstered, provide additional comfort and are fitted with elegantly rounded solid wood handles that add a natural touch. The wood used is echoed in the legs: they are crafted from either walnut or oak and are characterized by their slightly tapered shape, which lends a certain lightness to the overall appearance. Upon request, the sofa is also available in additional colors and fabric types.
