Pendant Light with Graceful Aluminum Discs

The was designed by Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide . The design of the Pirce Mini resembles a paper cutout: the delicate disc transitions into gently curved rings that spiral downward. Depending on how long the suspension cord is left, the Pirce’s silhouette appears flatter or more elongated. The light source is housed in the lower, bowl-shaped shade and directs the light upward. In this way, the pendant light from Artemide creates an indirect glow and produces striking light and shadow effects. Made of painted aluminum, the Pierce Mini naturally stands out in living and dining rooms, but it also adds a special touch to offices (IP 20). The clearly defined design—typical of Scutellà—has been honored with numerous awards. Among other honors, the fascinatingly designed Pirce lighting series from Artemide has received the red dot award, the iF Design Award, and the American Good Design Award.
