Aalto Side Table with Bentwood Frame

A defining feature of the “ 915 ” side table is its curved birch wood frame. It is shaped using the then-revolutionary technique of bentwood lamination, giving it the curves typical of Aalto’s furniture.
While two runners made of light birch wood form the frame of the side table, two similarly curved veneer shelves serve as storage surfaces. Their bowl-like shape not only creates a soft, harmonious appearance but also keeps objects placed on them securely in place.
