Pendant lamp made of satin-finish opal glass

The " A 440 " pendant lamp is the sister model to the classic "Golden Bell" pendant lamp. Both products were designed by Finnish designer and architect Alvar Aalto for the company Artek . Unlike the Golden Bell, the “ A 440 ” is made of satin-finished opal glass. The light it emits passes through the shade gently, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Designed in 1954, the A 440 pendant lamp can almost be considered a reinterpretation of the Golden Bell from the 1930s. Both lamps share an organic form with straight and flowing lines. Its understated design also makes the A 440 pendant lamp a timeless classic. The light from the fixture gently filters through the satin-matte glass shade, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The shade is open at the bottom, allowing areas below to be attractively illuminated. A ceiling plug and a white plastic cable are included with the “ A 440 ” pendant light. Artek recommends using a light bulb with an E27 base and a maximum wattage of 11 watts.
