Egg Cup Made of 2 Halves

Alessi ’s “ Roost ” egg cup is a unique holder for your daily breakfast egg. Made of aluminum, this cup stands out for its extraordinary design, consisting of two identical halves that, when put together, form an interesting sculpture. This allows you to cut your hard-boiled egg in half and place one half in each half of the cup. The sides of the two egg cups form three upright triangles that flow seamlessly into three curved lines on the inside. These lines adapt to the shape of the egg, providing optimal support.

The Surprise Egg Cup

The three triangles on one half fit perfectly between the three on the other half. This creates a sculptural object that doesn’t reveal itself to be an egg cup. Curious onlookers are thus surprised when they lift the top cup. This idea by designer Adam Goodrum is based on a childhood memory of collecting eggs in the morning, as opening the egg was always a surprise.
