Foix is a shiny, polished, round stainless steel tray with decoratively crumpled edges along the rim. Spanish designer Lluis Clotet was fascinated by the crumpled shapes that aluminum foil takes on when handled a little roughly. The playful folds and the resulting reflections of the incoming light inspired him to design the rim of Foix, into which he immediately incorporated some of these raised features. In the center of the tray is a smooth surface for safely transporting or attractively displaying the desired items, while the crumpled-looking frame adds visual variety and movement.
