Designer Toilet Brush from Italy

The toilet brush is something of a necessary evil in the bathroom: needed and practical, but not exactly a thing of beauty. Alessi and Piero Lissoni are putting an end to that with the toilet brush from the bathroom collection Birillo . With its sophisticated design, the toilet brush can be displayed as a full-fledged design object from Alessi that, when needed, possesses all the functional characteristics of a toilet brush. It just looks better. The brush is made of white plastic and sits in a polished stainless steel holder. This not only ensures high quality but also has the advantage that the actual brush is barely visible inside the stainless steel holder. When not in use, the toilet brush appears as a simple decorative object. But when needed, it’s immediately at hand. The toilet brush stands out on its own or as part of the “ Birillo ” collection, thanks to its gentle lines, elegant simplicity, and the features that set the products from Piero Lissoni’s “ Birillo ” apart from the mass of bathroom accessories: Thanks to the rounded edges at the base, the contact points with the floor are not visible; the objects in the collection appear to float, as if drifting on the smooth surfaces of the bathroom. In designing “ Birillo ,” Piero Lissoni took the shape of a rounded square as his starting point, which evolves into various three-dimensional forms. The designer himself describes this shape as an “imperfect square or a completely failed round form.” The combination of stainless steel and plastic (PMMA) also creates appealing contrasts in both appearance and texture.
