Stylish Designer Kettle

Michael Graves had long since established himself as a world-renowned architect through his buildings when he took his first steps into the world of product design in the 1980s. Alberto Alessi counts his collaboration with Graves as “one of my many wonderful experiences as a design manager”; “his path was enthusiastic and contradictory, marked by great successes and popularity.” In this new field, however, Graves’ work was also viewed very critically. Nevertheless, his works continue to enjoy great popularity to this day. In 1984, Michael Graves created the now-legendary “Bird Kettle” ( & & ). It was the first product an American designer had ever designed for Alessi . The MG32 kettle is a modern interpretation of that very “Bird Kettle” —with the difference that it heats water electronically and is not tied to a stove or hotplate. The MG32 kettle holds 1.5 liters and is made of stainless steel, while the handle, lid, and bird whistle are made of PA plastic.
