Bis dahin nur für militärische Zwecke eingesetzt, fand das Material so seinen Weg in die Möbelindustrie diente als perfekte Lösung für Charles und Ray Eames. Auch die Oberflächenstruktur machte die Sitzschalen einzigartig: Die Unregelmäßigkeit und die deutlich sichtbaren Fasern ließen das Material natürlich wirken und sorgten zudem für eine besondere Haptik. \u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003eZusätzlich zu den komfortablen Sitzschalen entwickelten die beiden Designer eine Reihe ausdrucksstarker Untergestelle für den Stuhl zur freien Konfiguration. Neben dem klassischen Eiffelturm-Gestell aus Metall und dem mit Metallstreben verstärktem Holzgestell, sind später auch klassische Vierfuß- oder Schaukelstuhlvarianten gefertigt worden.
